How to Set Yourself as an Admin on your Astroneer Server

In this guide will we be going through the steps to set up Admin/Owner controls of your Astroneer dedicated server. As the Owner of the server, you will gain access to various administration tools such as adding players to your server whitelist, enabling creative mode, setting the server password and many more server options! 

There are also two methods on how to set yourself as the Owner/Admin of your Astroneer Server.

Note: We recommend to fully stop your Astroneer server before making any configuration or setting changes.

Method 1: Setting Admin Privileges via the Server Config

1. Open the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your Astroneer dedicated server.

2. Navigate to the Server Files tab.

3. Locate the AstroServerSettings.ini config file in the following directory: /Astro/Saved/Config/WindowsServer.

4. Select the file and click Edit.
   

5. Enter your Steam Name in the OwnerName field.
   

6. Click Save.

7. Start your Astroneer Server.

Method 2: Setting Admin Privileges in the Game Settings

1. Navigate to the Game Settings tab of the Pro Panel.

2. Enter your Steam Name in the Server Owner Name box.
   

3. Click Submit.

4. Start your Astroneer Server.
