Hytale Ores and Where to Find Them
Ores are a core part of progression in Hytale, providing the materials needed for crafting equipment, tools, and upgrades as players move through the world. Each ore is tied to specific zones and depth ranges, encouraging exploration and gradual progression through increasingly dangerous areas. Knowing where each ore spawns can save time and help players prepare for tougher zones.
Currently Obtainable Ores
Copper

Copper is one of the first ores players will encounter. It is found easily underground in the Emerald Wilds (Zone 1), making it an early-game resource used to introduce basic mining and crafting. Copper veins are common and do not require deep exploration to locate.
Iron

Iron becomes more prominent slightly deeper underground. It can be found in Emerald Wild zones at underground levels 2 to 3, but it is most commonly found in Howling Sands (Zone 2) underground. As a mid-tier material early on, Iron plays a key role in improving gear and tools before moving into higher difficulty zones.
Gold

Gold appears later in early progression and is less common than Copper or Iron. It can be found in Emerald Wild (Zone 1), but it is far more common in Howling Sands (Zone 2). Gold typically spawns underground at depth 3, often near bedrock, making it more dangerous and time consuming to obtain.
Cobalt

Cobalt is primarily associated with the Whisperfrost Frontier (Zone 3). It can be found on the surface along mountain sides, underground from depth 1 down to bedrock, and inside Outlander structures. This ore supports more advanced crafting and signals a shift into higher-tier progression.
Thorium

Thorum is found mainly in Howling Sands (Zone 2). It spawns underground at depth 2 and can also be obtained from chests in Faran settlements. Thorium encourages deeper exploration of desert regions and interaction with zone-specific structures.
Silver

Silver shares many spawn characteristics with Cobalt. It can be found in the Whisperfrost Frontier (Zone 3) on mountain sides, underground from depth 1 to bedrock, and within Outlander structures. Silver serves as an important material during mid-to-late game progression.
Adamantite

Adamantite shows up in the Devastated Lands (Zone 4), both on the surface and underground. Since this zone is late-game and extremely hostile, getting Adamantite usually comes with a lot more risk than earlier ores.

How Ores Are Used
Ore blocks can be mined and smelted into bars using a Furnace. These bars are then used to craft weapons and armor made from that metal. In general, rarer ores are used to create stronger gear, with higher quality equipment tied to harder-to-find materials.
Conclusion
If you are mining copper and wondering why your gear feels bad, you are probably just in the wrong zone. Ores in Hytale are very much a “right place, right time” thing. Early areas are meant for basic materials, and the farther you push out, the better the stuff gets. Once you know which zones to dig in, mining stops feeling like guesswork and starts feeling a lot more intentional.
