In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to craft every type of Poké Ball in Pixelmon. As of Pixelmon 9.0+, Poké Balls are divided into three separate crafting tiers. Each tier has its own unique ingredients and determines how many Poké Balls you’ll get from crafting.

  • Base Balls: The bases must be crafted using the material required for that tier.

  • Hisuian Balls: The lids must be crafted with the corresponding material instead.

Tier Breakdown:

Tier 1: 5 lids are crafted per recipe, the base/lid of these balls must be constructed out of Iron or Aluminium Ingots. basic lids for pixelmoniron bases

How to Craft Poké Balls in Pixelmon

You would need a few times before crafting your pokemon balls in Pixelmon. Besure to have a crafting table and furnace. Keep in mind that although each Poke Ball differs, they’re all crafted similarly:

Crafting the Lid

  1. Launch Pixelmon

  2. Connect to your Pixelmon Server

  3. Locate or Craft a Crafting Table and Furnace

  4. Smelt three Apricorns of the required colors of the desired Poke Ball (see table below for reference)

  5. Lay them in a row in the crafting table to produce a base from the Apricorn

  6. Depending on tier will craft either 5, 3, or 1 Lids

Crafting the Base

  1. Lay three ion, aluminum, silver or platinum ingots in a row in the crafting table

    • Depending on tier will craft either 5, 3, or 1 Bases

    • Wooden buttons will not work

Note: For Hisuian Balls use Wooden Bases and Normal Buttons but follows the same arrangement.

Crafting the Poké Ball

    • Any arrangement will do

Troubleshooting

  • My recipe isn’t working:
Double-check that you’re using the correct Apricorn colors, tier materials, and a Stone Button (unless crafting Hisuian Balls, which use Normal Buttons).

  • The crafting recipe won’t show up:
Make sure you’re placing three Apricorns or three ingots in a row on the Crafting Table. Recipes only work when items are aligned horizontally.

  • I used a Wooden Button and it didn’t work:
Only Stone Buttons are valid for standard Poké Balls. Wooden Buttons only work with Hisuian Balls.

  • Why can’t I craft certain lids (Cherish, GS, Master, Park)?
These special lids cannot be crafted. Instead, you receive them automatically if the ball breaks in-game.

  • I’m not getting the right number of Lids or Bases:
Check the tier of the materials you’re using.

    • Tier 1: 5 items

    • Tier 2: 3 items

    • Tier 3: 1 item

Conclusion

Crafting Poké Balls in Pixelmon is straightforward once you understand the tier system. Each ball type follows the same basic formula—**Lid + Base + Button**—with the materials varying by tier or ball type. Whether you’re making standard Poké Balls or unique Hisuian variants, mastering the process will make capturing Pokémon much easier and more efficient. As you progress, experiment with different Apricorn color combinations and tiers to unlock all the different Poké Ball types available in Pixelmon 9.0+.
