Claiming an island in Aloft is an exciting step in making the skies your own. Your Home Island is a personal sanctuary where you can store resources, raise animals, cook meals, and more. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know about claiming and managing your Home Island.

What is a Home Island?

Your Home Island in Aloft serves as your base of operations and provides essential and useful features to you throughout your journey.

Respawn Point: Anytime you run out of HP, you will respawn at your Home Island.
Storage and Activities: Store resources, raise animals, cook meals, and set up your personal space.
Quick Teleport: You can teleport to your Home Island by opening your inventory and selecting the far-right tab at the top of your screen.

How to Claim Your First Home Island

Shortly after starting the game, you’ll exit the starting cave and encounter a Knowledge Stone. This stone provides the recipe for the Home Kite, which is required for claiming an island.

To get started on your search for a home, craft a glider to explore the vast skies and find an island that suits your needs. With hundreds of islands to choose from, you’re bound to find one you love.

Once you’ve chosen an island, craft a Home Kite and place it on the island. The Home Kite will allow you to officially claim the island, name it, and make it your own.

Managing Your Home Island

Claim Multiple Islands: You can claim more than one Home Island, but only one can be spawned at a time.
Home Island Tab: From your inventory, click on the far-right Island icon. Here you can teleport to your island, spawn, despawn, or delete your Home Island.
Exclusive Ownership: Each island can only be claimed by one player, so no two players can claim the same island.

Note: Deleting your Home Island will erase the Island itself as well as everything on it, so proceed with caution!

It's important to note that players you Trust cannot directly teleport to your Home Island, however, they can teleport to you once you are there.

To trust a player, press the Escape key to open the game menu and click the heart next to the player's name.
