How to Add Admins to The Forest
To log in as an admin in The Forest, you'll need to configure your server and use an admin password. Here's a detailed guide to help you through the process:
Set the Admin Password
If you have access to Nodecraft’s Control Panel, follow the Nodecraft Pro steps. If not, skip ahead to the Edit server.cfg
File section.
Nodecraft Pro
Click on the “Game Settings” tab on the left-hand side, then click the “Advanced” tab near the top.
Locate the “Admin Password” setting, provide a password you want to use, and then click “Submit” at the bottom of the panel.
Edit the Server.cfg
File
Locate your server’s server.cfg
file, this will be where your server’s -configfilepath
is set to.
At Nodecraft, you can find this file in the Main Folder of the “Server Files” tab.
Select the file and click the “Edit” button.
Find the serverPasswordAdmin
setting, add your desired password, and then “Save Changes”.
Start the Server
From here, be sure to Start your server up, or Restart it if you made any edits while the server was running.
Log in as Admin In-Game
From here you’ll want to connect to your server, please refer to our How To Join article if you’re not sure of the process.
The only additional step you want to do is before you join completely, you’ll provide the Admin Password you set for your server.
Use Admin Commands

to open the chat, then type the command prefixed with a forward slash /

A list of commands will appear, allowing you to perform various administrative tasks.
