Insurgency: Sandstorm Admin Menu
In Insurgency: Sandstorm, there is a special "Admin" menu that allows a player authorized as an admin to quickly access options for switching maps and scenarios, banning and kicking players, changing the AI settings of bots, and many other things.
You will need to be set as an admin in the admins.txt
file, in order to access this special Admin menu. See the related article for how to do this.
The Admin menu is in addition to the regular "console", which is opened in-game by pressing the tilde key
~
, which is usually directly above the Tab key on most keyboards. The console opens a black bar at the bottom of the screen, allowing commands to be manually entered. The admin menu is a point and click GUI, which is much easier and faster to use.
Opening the Admin Menu
This is usually done by pressing the Minus -
key on the numbers pad. You can change this keybind in the game settings if you wish.
At the top of the admin menu, there will be buttons to switch between four pages, which are "Game", "Players", "Levels" and "Developer". When you open the admin menu, you will normally see the "Game" page. You can switch between these pages by either clicking directly on the boxes or by using the Q
and E
keys on the keyboard.
Game Page
The Game page contains options that affect the current scenario you're playing, allowing you to restart rounds, swap teams, and end the current game.
Levels Page
On the Levels page, you can pick new map/scenarios combinations to load. Click on maps on the left side, and then you will see a list of scenarios appear on the right. Click on the scenario, and it will begin loading.
Players
This page contains a list of players in the current game (which includes bots too) and options to ban or kick them. The different columns of buttons include different lengths of bans, with the option of permanent, 1 day, 1 hour, or 10 minutes.
Developer (Debug)
This page has only 4 options, but each one contains an entire sub-menu. There are more options on the "Developer" page than all the others combined.
DebugMenu - Player
This sub-page has options for turning on various cheats and giving items to players.
DebugMenu - AI
This sub-page allows you to change the bot's AI settings, wipe them all, and respawn them.
DebugMenu - Visuals
This sub-page allows you to turn on onscreen information about your frames per second, and to turn off things that might be affecting performance.
DebugMenu - Server
Like the "Game" page, this page contains options that allow an admin to affect the current game being played. You can skip to the end of a round, respawn all players, instantly capture objectives, etc.
