How to Join Your Project Zomboid Dedicated Server

There are two ways to join your Project Zomboid server. This article will give you an overview of how to join from the listings and how to directly connect using the favorites tab.

Using The Server Listings

Click ‘Join’ in the main menu.
Go to the Internet tab.
Use the filters at the bottom of the screen to help you find your server in the list

With the list now filtered, Click on your server.
If the server is password-protected, enter the server’s password in the Server Password field.
In the Account Username field, enter a username that you want to use for that server. This will reserve that username for you within that specific server.
In the Account Password field, enter a password that you would like to use for your character for that specific server.
Click on ‘Join Server’ to join.

If you are trying to join using the listings for the first time, you may need to set a few settings in your configuration files for your server to appear in the list. Connecting to Your Server Using the Favorites Tab

Locate Your Server’s IP Address

You can find your server’s IP address in the Overview tab of the panel.

Add Your Server Information to the Favorites Tab

Click ‘Join’ in the main menu.
Go to the Favorites tab.
Give your entry in the favorites a name. This can be anything you would like and does not have to match the server name.
Enter the IP to the server in the IP field.
Do not change the port from 16261.
If the server has a password, enter that password into the Server Password field.
You can optionally enter a description for the server.
In the Account Username field, enter a username that you want to use for that server. This will reserve that username for you within a specific server.
In the Account Password field, enter a password that you would like to use for your character for the server.
Click ‘Add’ to add it to your favorites list.

Join Your Server

Now that your server is in your favorites list, click on your server and click on the ‘Join Server’ button.
