Locate the Save Slot

From here, you’ll see a Singleplayer and Multiplayer folder. Locate the save you wish from either of these 2 folders.

Inside either of these folders, you’ll see different folders for each of your saves. They are usually named with a number (e.g., Slot1, Slot2, etc.).

Edit Manually

If you don’t have access to our panel, you’ll need to tell the server to load the save either by editing your server’s command line with:

-slot <1|2|3|4|5> - Sets the save slot to use, default is 1

-inittype Continue - Set the init type of game, default is New

Or you can edit the server’s server.cfg file and change:

slot 1 - The slot to save the game. Must be set 1 2 3 4 or 5

initType Continue - New or continue a game. Must be set to "New" or "Continue”

Start the Server

After uploading the saved file, Start the server up. Your server should now load the uploaded save game.

Additional Tips

- Backup Your Saves: Always create backups of both the local and server save files in case something goes wrong.

- Check Mod/Version Compatibility: Ensure that the version of The Forest running on your server matches the one from your save, including any mods, to avoid compatibility issues.
