General Settings Overview
Setting up an Astroneer dedicated server requires configuring several important settings in the AstroServerSettings.ini
file. This guide provides an overview of the server settings you’ll encounter with your server and how to make the adjustments to fit your needs!
Nodecraft Pro Panel
At Nodecraft, we make it simple to configure your Astroneer server using our Nodecraft Pro Panel. You can adjust settings without ever needing to access the config files directly. Here’s how to quickly make changes:
Note: We recommend fully stopping your Astroneer server before continuing with any edits or configuration changes!
Log into the Pro Panel for your Astroneer server.
Navigate to the Game Settings tab on the left-hand side.
Make any adjustments that you would like to make.
Save your changes!
Start your server to apply the new server settings.
Manually Edit AstroServerSettings.ini
For those who prefer more control or don't have access to Pro Panel, manually editing the AstroServerSettings.ini file is a great option. The config file contains all the server settings, and you can find it in the following location: /Astro/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/AstroServerSettings.ini
Note: This file can also be accessed through the Server Files tab of the panel!

The Basics of The Basics
If you’re looking to get your Astroneer dedicated server up and running as quickly as possible, focus on configuring the following settings. These are the essential settings needed for your server's first launch:
PublicIP
: This is the IP address you and other players will use to connect to your Astroneer server.ServerName
: Customize the name of your server to make it easily identifiable for you and your friends.OwnerName
: Input the Steam username of the person who will act as the server owner. This gives them administrative privileges and access to important server management commands.MaxPlayerCount
: A limit on the number of players who can join your server at any given time. The default is 8.ServerPassword
: Adding a password can help you restrict access to your server, ensuring only those with the password can join.
These settings are just the basics, but they are crucial for setting up your server quickly and easily. For more advanced configuration options, you can make additional tweaks either directly in the AstroServerSettings.ini
file or through the Admin Control Panel in the game client.
Configuring your Astroneer server settings correctly is key to creating a smooth and enjoyable multiplayer experience for you and your friends.
