Ultimate Guide to Icarus Server Settings

Configuring the settings for your Icarus game server is essential for customizing and managing your server! This guide is going to walk you through how to edit your game server settings and breakdown what each setting means for your gameplay experience.

To begin, you can locate these settings in two areas within the Nodecraft Pro Panel:

The first location is located in the Game Settings tab of the panel and the second location is located in the Server Files within the following directory: /Icarus/Saved/Config/WindowsServer

Note: We recommend to fully stop your game server before making any configuration or setting changes.


Modifying Icarus Server Settings in the Game Settings Tab:

You can easily modify key elements of your server using the Game Settings Tab within the Nodecraft Panel for your Icarus server. Don’t forget to enable Advanced Settings for additional customization options.

  1. Open the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your Icarus game server.

  2. Navigate to the Game Settings tab on the left sidebar.

  3. Make changes to the desired server settings.

  4. Click "Submit" to save your changes.


Modifying Icarus Server Settings in the Server Files:

  1. Open the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your Icarus game server.

  2. Navigate to the Server Files tab on the left sidebar.

  3. Naviagate to the following directory: /Icarus/Saved/Config/WindowsServer

  4. Select the ServerSettings.ini configuration file.

  5. Select Edit.

  6. Make the desired changes to your Icarus Game Server and hit Save to submit the changes.

Icarus Game Server Settings Breakdown:

Here is a breakdown of each setting and their function for your Icarus Game Server.

Game Settings Option Function
Server Name Sets the name of your server, as shown in the Icarus game server list.
Server Join Password Allows you to set a password for players joining your server.
Admin Password A password that grants players admin privileges. *Use with caution
Allow Non-Admin Delete Prospect If enabled, non-admin players will be granted the ability to delete game prospects.
Allow Non-Admin Launch Prospect If enabled, non-admin players can load or start prospects while in the server lobby.
Last Prospect Name This will display the last Prospect running on the Icarus server before the game server shutdown or restart. This can also be changed manually; however it would also be automatically set to the most recent Prospect by the server on shutdown.
Resume Prospect If enabled, the last prospect played (if incomplete) will resume on the server startup.
Create Prospect If there is a Prospect ID displayed here, a new instance of that Prospect will be loaded on every server startup.
Load Prospect If a Prospect ID is displayed here, that Prospect will be loaded on every server start up.
Shutdown If Empty For Shuts down the Icarus server if no players are connected after a set period.
Shutdown If Not Joined For Shuts down the Icarus server if no one joins within a set time after startup.
Max Players Shows the number of Max players for the server.

Best Practices for Server Configuration:

  1. Always fully stop your server before applying any configuration changes! This will help avoid data loss or file corruption.

  2. Keep track of your changes so you can undo configuration changes as needed based on your gameplay experience.
