How to Enable Tree Regrowth for The Forest

To enable tree regrowth for The Forest dedicated server at Nodecraft, you'll need to modify the server's configuration file.

Nodecraft Pro

If you don’t have access to Nodecraft’s Control Panel, please skip ahead to the Editing Manually section.

Game Settings

Click the Game Settings tab on the left-hand side and locate the following:

Save and Restart the Server

After making your changes, ensure that you click the Save button, and then Restart your server for the changes to apply.

Editing Manually

Locate the Server Configuration Files

Go to the Server Files tab in Nodecraft Pro on the left-hand side, and locate the server.cfg file in the Main Folder.

If your server isn’t with us here at Nodecraft, and on Windows, this file is typically in the C:\\Users\\YourUsername\\AppData\\LocalLow\\SKS\\TheForestDedicatedServer.

Edit the server.cfg File

Select the server.cfg file and click the Edit button.

Find or add the following setting:

TreeRegrowMode

Set this value to on to enable tree regrowth.

TreeRegrowMode on

Save and Restart the Server

After making your changes, Save and then Restart your server for the changes to take effect.

Verify the Changes

Once the server restarts, trees that have been cut down will gradually regrow over time, typically after a few in-game days.
