How to Find the Seed of Your Minecraft World

A Minecraft world seed is a set of characters, including positive and negative whole numbers, which determines the generation of your server’s world. This can determine what biomes are near your server’s spawn point, and you can share your seed with others so they can generate the same default world.

Using the Control Panel

  1. Navigate to your Nodecraft Dashboard.

  2. Click the Panel button for your Minecraft server.

  3. Locate and click Console in the menu on the left side.

  4. With the server running, type /seed at the bottom of the console.

  5. Press the Enter key on your keyboard to send the command.

If the command was entered correctly, you will receive a response similar to:
[Server thread/INFO]: Seed: [-2016970387]

The seed of your server’s current world is located in the brackets. In this example, your seed would be -2016970387.
