Can You Build on Your Ship in Windrose?

The short answer is no. At least right now, Windrose does not let you freely build structures, crafting stations, or full custom bases directly onto your ships.

You cannot turn your ship into a fully modular floating base where you place walls, workbenches, storage rooms, or other player-built structures. If you want crafting stations, storage setups, or full production chains, those still need to be built back at your actual base on land.

That said, Windrose does let you build and upgrade a variety of different ships as you progress through the game.

The game currently features three ship classes:

• Ketches

• Brigantines

• Frigates

Each ship type also includes different variants, such as Stock, Brethren, and Blackbeard models, all with their own strengths and weaknesses. Some focus on speed and agility, while others trade speed for durability and storage space.

As you progress through Windrose, your tiny starter raft eventually evolves into massive late-game ships that feel far more powerful and capable, even if they are not fully customizable build platforms.
