How to Fast Travel in Windrose
Traveling across the world in Windrose can take a while, especially once you start exploring farther islands and sailing into more dangerous waters. Thankfully, the game includes a fast travel system that lets you quickly move between discovered locations instead of manually sailing everywhere every single time.
There are two main types of fast travel points in Windrose. You will naturally discover some while exploring faction hubs and major landmarks, but you can also create your own custom fast travel locations using a Fast Travel Bell.
How to Craft a Fast Travel Bell
Before you can place your own fast travel point, you will first need to craft a Fast Travel Bell.
The Fast Travel Bell can be crafted at a Level 1 Workbench using:
10 Copper Ingots
3 Rope
Once crafted, the bell can be used to create a permanent fast travel point near the shoreline.
How to Build a Fast Travel Point
After crafting the bell, you can place a Fast Travel Point along the coast using:
1 Fast Travel Bell
20 Wood
Fast travel points must be placed near the shoreline in order to function properly.
You can have up to 10 Fast Travel Points active at one time. Thankfully, removing one refunds all of the materials used to build it, so you can freely move them around as your adventures expand into new areas.
If you want your fast travel point placed farther out into the water, you can also connect it to a Pier using the Prebuilt Structures menu.
How to Fast Travel
Fast travel becomes available while steering your boat or ship, or after interacting with an existing Fast Travel Point.
When fast travel is available, travel points on the map will appear with glowing gold highlights around them. You can then simply select one of the available destinations on the map to instantly travel there.
Important: Simply standing near a Fast Travel Point is not enough. You must either be actively steering your ship or interacting directly with a fast travel location for the system to work.
