In this guide we will cover how you can set up a whitelist on your Zomboid server. A while list is a great way to moderate access on your server and know only those who you allow can join. 

Enabling the whitelist/Making the server non-public. 

  1. Open your Dashboard

  2. Locate your Project Zomboid server and click on the Panel button. 

  3. Once on your panel, Stop your server. 

  4. Navigate to the File Manager

  5. Once on the file manager, navigate to the following location: /config/Server and open the Nodecraft_Server.ini file by double-clicking on it. 

  6. Once in the file, locate the line that has Open=true and change true to false so it looks like this: Open=false

  7. Once done, click save changes.

  8. Start your server. 

Adding players to the whitelist.

  1. Navigate to your console from your server's pane. 

  2. On the console run the following command to add a user to the whitelist: adduser "username" <password>

    Note: The password is optional and is not required to be set. 

Removing players from the whitelist.

On the console run the following command to remove a user from the whitelist: RemoveUserFromWhitelist  "username"

Conclusion

You have now set up your server to not be available to the public by enforcing the whitelist and adding or removing a player from the list. This is a great way to moderate and secure your server by knowing only those you add to the list will be able to join.
