Switching Palworld server hosts does not mean abandoning your world, characters, bases, or favorite Pals. This guide covers moving a dedicated Palworld server from another host to Nodecraft.

Note: Single-player and co-op saves may require additional conversion. These steps are for dedicated server transfers.

Download Your Palworld Save

  1. Stop the server at your previous host.

  2. Open its file manager or connect through SFTP.

  3. Navigate to Pal/Saved/SaveGames.

  4. Download the entire SaveGames folder and compress it into a ZIP archive.

Important: Download the entire folder. Copying only Level.sav may leave player data behind, which is a particularly unpleasant moving-day surprise.

Upload the Save to Nodecraft

Start your new Palworld server once to generate its files, then:

  1. Navigate to your Nodecraft dashboard.

  2. Locate your Palworld server and click Panel.

  3. Stop the server.

  4. Click Server Files in the menu on the left.

  5. Navigate to Pal/Saved/ and delete the existing SaveGames folder.

  6. Upload your ZIP archive and click Unzip.

The final path should look like Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0//Level.sav. Make sure you did not create an extra folder such as SaveGames/SaveGames/0/. Palworld will not go exploring for its own save.

Configure the World ID

  1. Navigate to Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/.

  2. Open GameUserSettings.ini.

  3. Locate DedicatedServerName and replace its value with the transferred world folder name. For example, use DedicatedServerName=77E6D46EFEDFGSDF5559CD1EB6D4F if that is the name of the folder inside SaveGames/0/.

  4. Save the file.

The value must match the folder name exactly.

Start and Test the Server

Start the server and join using the new address. Confirm that your character, inventory, Pals, guild, and bases are available, then ask another player to test their character.

Server settings and mods may need to be recreated separately. Keep your original backup until everyone has confirmed that the transfer worked.

Conclusion

Your Palworld world should now be running on Nodecraft with its existing players and progress. You may now return to building a perfectly organized base that will remain organized for at least several minutes.
