How Pal Condensation Changed in Palworld 1.0
Pal Condensation used to be one of Palworld’s grindiest upgrade systems. Fully condensing one Pal required 116 sacrifices, several Palbox pages, and a breeding operation that was beginning to resemble an industrial poultry complex.
Palworld 1.0 made the process considerably easier. Maximum condensation now requires 48 sacrificed Pals, and every rank can improve a Pal’s Work Suitability.
What Is Pal Condensation?
Pal Condensation allows you to sacrifice duplicate Pals to increase the rank of one selected Pal. This is performed using the Pal Essence Condenser.
The Pal you select first becomes the upgraded Pal. Every other Pal used during the process is permanently consumed, so double-check your selection before pressing the button. Accidentally turning your perfect worker into Pal-flavored energy is considered poor workforce management.
A Pal can be condensed four times, with each rank represented by a blue star.
How Many Pals Does Condensation Require in Palworld 1.0?
Palworld 1.0 reduced the maximum condensation requirement from 116 sacrificed Pals to 48.
The new requirements are:
One Star: 4 Pals
Two Stars: 8 additional Pals
Three Stars: 12 additional Pals
Four Stars: 24 additional Pals
You will need 48 Pals to sacrifice, plus the Pal being upgraded. That means a fully condensed Pal requires 49 copies of the same species in total.
This reduces the number of sacrifices by 68, making fully condensed Pals considerably easier to obtain.
What Does Each Condensation Rank Improve?
Each condensation rank can improve the selected Pal’s:
Maximum Health
Attack
Defense
Partner Skill
Work Suitability
The confirmation screen shows the exact improvements before the selected Pals are consumed.
Partner Skill improvements vary between Pals. Condensation may increase damage, improve healing, reduce cooldowns, boost movement, or strengthen another part of the skill.
Condensation Now Improves Work Suitability at Every Rank
Before Palworld 1.0, players generally needed to reach maximum condensation before receiving a Work Suitability increase.
Each time a Pal ranks up in Palworld 1.0, one of its existing Work Suitability levels increases. Reaching the maximum four-star rank still increases all of that Pal’s available Work Suitabilities.
In the example above, Herbils’s Planting increased from Level 1 to Level 2 after reaching one star. Its Partner Skill, health, attack, defense, and Work Speed also improved.
Condensation cannot give a Pal an entirely new job. A Pal without Mining will not suddenly discover a passion for hitting rocks, no matter how many relatives are fed into the machine.
Which Pal Should You Condense?
Choose the Pal you intend to keep before beginning condensation. Look for strong passive skills, useful mutations, good individual stats, or the Work Suitabilities needed for your base.
The Pals sacrificed during condensation do not transfer their passive or active skills to the selected Pal. Their only contribution is condensation progress and the unsettling knowledge that your favorite Pal is now technically several Pals.
For valuable or difficult-to-breed species, finish breeding your preferred version before committing duplicates to condensation.
Final Thoughts
Condensation is considerably more useful in Palworld 1.0.
The reduced cost makes four-star Pals more realistic to obtain, while the new Work Suitability progression means even partial condensation can provide a meaningful improvement. You no longer need to finish the entire process before a base worker begins benefiting from it.
Combat Pals also continue to gain improved stats and stronger Partner Skills, making condensation useful both inside and outside your base.
Fully condensing an entire team still requires plenty of capturing or breeding, but the system is no longer quite as determined to consume your entire Palbox.
