The Story So Far
Hytale has a story leading to release like few others. After the team found success in a wildly popular modded Minecraft server, Hytale as a game in its own right began production in 2015. Initially, a team-up with Riot games was exciting to expand the team's reach... but after years of development, Riot pulled the plug on June 23, 2025. The community was profoundly let down after a decade of anticipation.
It was a total surprise when devs announced that rights had been purchased back from Riot on Nov 17, 2025 and a release so soon after has all of us beyond ready to finally get to explore this world.
It's been a heck of a journey. Be sure to prepurchase your copy of the game to support the team that's worked so hard for so long, and invite your friends to explore Hytale with you on your own server!
