As you've likely noticed, we haven't published a NodePanel update in about 2 months now. We felt that NodePanel was in a rather stable state for production, and began working behind the scenes on developing our systems for other games, and performed tests with a other exiciting technologies. During this time however though, it became clear that a huge number customers sought a feature that we hadn't fully built yet. We've taken the last week to develop another update to NodePanel, and also fixed some minor issues that were likely more of an annoyance to us than most of our customers! The biggest feature we're unveiling this week is backups!
Our new backup system offers our customers an offsite backup solution, and the peace of mind that their data is safe. We've designed our backup system to offer two forms of backup; "smart" and "full". A "smart" backup will backup only absolutely important data (world, configs, etc) and ignore jars, mods, SQLite DBs, etc which will produce a much smaller backup, whereas a full backup will backup absolutely everything in your server and will of course be much larger.
Our current backup quotas sit at 5GB of backup space per 1GB of RAM. We will be offering the ability to increase this quota in the future, so please do contact us and let us know if you require any more space! When you create a new backup, our system will automatically clear the oldest backup(s) to make room for your new one, to ensure you stay within your limits. If there is a particular backup you do not want deleted, you can "lock" this backup, but do note that this may prevent any future backups from being created, if your "locked" backups exceed your backup limits.
Backups can be downloaded straight to your local computer, removed and "uploaded" to your server directory, so you can use our file manager to unzip them.
