What does the Minecraft Map Generator do?

map.datfile(s) that Minecraft can read as a real in-game map item. -
Why does my image look different on the map?
Minecraft maps use a limited color palette and low resolution, so very detailed or dark images may lose detail. Play with the various options provided like columns/rows to increase fidelity, or dithering configuration to alter how colours are used.

What image formats are supported?
You can upload any modern image format, including JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WebP. All aspect ratios are supported, and the generator will automatically adjust to fit your image best.

Can I use this for frames?
Yes. Many servers use map art for logos and artwork, as well as to display information such as rules boards, or notices. Simply upload the
map.datfile(s) into your world and display it on frames wherever it makes sense!
