# How to Set a Windrose Server Password

Learn how to set or change the password for your Windrose server in the Nodecraft panel so you can control who is able to join.

In this guide we are going to go over how you can set or change the server password for your WIndrose server. Setting a server password is a simple way to limit access so only players with the password can connect. In this guide, we’ll show you how to enable password protection and set or change your server password in the Nodecraft panel.

## Setting/Changing the Password

**Note: Be sure to fully Stop your Windrose server before making any configuration or setting changes! **

1. Open your [Dashboard.](https://app.nodecraft.com/dashboard)
2. Locate your Windrose server and click on the **Panel **button.
3. From the sidebar, navigate to the **Game Settings** tab.

4. Once on the game settings page locate the **Server Password** section.

5. Enable the **Password Protection** option.

6. Once enabled, enter your desired password into the **Server Password** box.
7. Once your desired password is set, click on **submit.**

8. **Start **your server.

## Conclusion

Your Windrose server password is now set and ready to use. Anyone joining the server will need that password to connect, so make sure to share it only with the players you want to have access.
