# Using a Password with your Voyagers of Nera Server

Learn how to add and use a Server Password to protect your Voyagers of Nera server.

Voyagers of Nera supports adding a password to your server, to ensure only people you can trust can join it. This can be very useful to prevent unwanted players on the internet from joining.

## Limitations of Server Password

Today, server passwords in Voyagers of Nera can only be used from the server browser. Passwords can not be not used if joining with the Invite Code (see related article for details on how to join your server).

## Set Server Password in Nodecraft Game Settings

1. Locate the Game Settings in the Nodecraft server control panel.
2. In the Basic tab of the **Game Settings** you can edit your **Server Password** in the selected field below.

3. Select **Submit **to Save your changes.
4. **Start **your Voyagers of Nera server.

## Change the Server Password in the Config File

1. Navigate to your** Server Files** in the Nodecraft server control panel.
2. Select the `CustomHostServerUserSettings.ini`** **file in `/BoatGame/Saved/PersistedData/CustomConfig`.
3. Select **Edit**.
4. Locate** **`HostServerPassword`** **and input your desired Server Password.

5. Select **Save**.
6. **Start **your Voyagers of Nera game server.
