# How to Change the Server Name on Your The Forest Server

How to edit and change your server name in the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your The Forest Server. 

We do recommend that you change your game server name to be able to locate your The Forest server in the game server list. In this guide we will show you two ways on how to change your The Forest game server name.

**Note:** We recommend to fully stop your The Forest server before making any configuration or setting changes.

### Change the Server Name in the Game Settings

1. Locate the Game Settings in the Nodecraft Pro Panel.
2. In the Basic tab of the Game Settings you can edit your Server Name in the selected field below.

3. Select Submit to Save your changes.
4. Start your The Forest server.

### Change the Server Name in the `server.cfg`

1. Navigate to your Server Files in the Nodecraft Pro Panel.
2. Select the `server.cfg` file.
3. Select Edit.

4. Locate the Server Name and input your desired Server Name.

5. Select Save.
6. Start your The Forest game server.
