# How to Transfer your Terraria Server to Nodecraft

This guide walks through every step of transferring your existing Terraria world and player data to your new Nodecraft server.

## Locate Your Terraria Server Files

On your computer, find the folder that contains your Terraria server files.

At minimum, you’re looking for:

- Your world file (.wld)
- World backup files (.wld.bak)
- Player data files (.plr) if you want to transfer them
- Server configuration file (serverconfig.txt) if you customized settings

World files are usually found inside a folder named Worlds.

Make sure you identify the correct world file. The filename should match your world name.

## Upload the Files to Your Server

**Note: Be sure to fully stop your Terraria server before continuing! Uploading files while the server is running can overwrite or corrupt data.**

1. Navigate to your Nodecraft Dashboard.
2. Click the **Panel** button for your Terraria server.
3. Locate and click **Files** in the menu on the left side.
4. Navigate into the /worlds/ folder.
5. Drag your .wld file from your computer into the worlds folder on your server dashboard. Also upload .wld.bak backup files and player files (.plr) if you want shared server-side player data.
6. When the upload finishes, locate and click **Manage Worlds** in the menu on the left side.
7. In the box for the world you just uploaded, click **Select**.
8. **Start** your server.

**Server generates a new world**

- Double-check world selection in Manage Worlds.

**World fails to load**

- Make sure the file uploaded correctly.
- Check that the file is not corrupted.
- Confirm you stopped the server before upload.

**Players lost their characters**

- Player data is usually client-side.
- Upload .plr files only if using server-side characters.
