# How to Add a Password to a Space Engineers Server

Learn how to password protect your Space Engineers server to keep unwanted players out. This guide walks you through setting a server password using the Nodecraft control panel in just a few simple steps, giving you full control over who can join your world.

In this guide we are going to go over how you can add a password to your Space Engineers server. Adding a password to your server is a great way to control who can access your server.

1. Open your [Dashboard](https://app.nodecraft.com/dashboard)
2. Locate your Space Engineers server and click on the **Panel **button.
3. Once on your panel, stop your server.
4. Open the **Game Settings**.

5. Once on the game settings page, you should be on the basic settings already. Look for the **server password **section.

6. Click on the **Show** button to unlock the setting.

7. Click on **Set Password.**

8. Enter your desired password and then click on **Set**.

9. Once you see **Password set successfully **you can start your server.
