# How to Disable the Daylight Cycle on Your Minecraft Server

Learn how to disable the daylight cycle for your Minecraft server!

Minecraft comes with a number of different gamerules that you can enable or disable to change your experience. One option that you can change is disabling the passage of time, meaning your server will always be day or night. This article will show you how to set this up.

## Using the Control Panel

1. Navigate to your Nodecraft Dashboard.
2. Click the **Panel **button for your Minecraft server.
3. Locate and click **Console** in the menu on the left side.
4. With the server running, type **/gamerule doDaylightCycle false**
5. Press the **Enter** key on your keyboard to send the command.

If the command was used correctly, you will receive a response similar to:  
\[Server thread/INFO\]: **Gamerule doDaylightCycle is now set to: false**

**Note: ****This will stop the passage of time, however, the server will be locked at whatever time it was in-game when the command was ran. To set the time to the time you want, use the /time command as explained ****[here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1S5yeNJvqrKkR8WvG4tW7-etDuXfq2sGopnK1Q7h6dGo/edit?tab=t.11zvai8gfrqh)****.**

You have now disabled the daylight cycle on your server! To enable it again, run this command:

**/gamerule doDaylightCycle true**
