# How to Connect Pixelmon to Discord

Learn what every setting in Pixelmon's server_discord.yml controls. This guide explains how to configure your Discord rich presence button, customize its label, and link players directly to your Discord server or community website.

The Server Discord section controls the link and label Pixelmon uses for a server's Discord rich presence button. These settings can send players to a Discord invitation or another website directly from the server information shown in Discord.

## Pixelmon Server Discord Settings

The settings below are listed in the same order as they appear in server\_discord.yml. Both options use text values. The Setting column shows a reader-friendly name first, followed by the matching server\_discord.yml key for reference.

## Important Discord Setting Notes

### Discord Invite Link

The discord-invite setting accepts a Discord invitation link or a regular website URL. Leave it blank if you do not want a Discord or website button to appear in Pixelmon's rich presence.

### Server Name

The server-name setting controls the text shown on the rich presence button. Use a short, recognizable name so players understand which server or community the button represents.

### Rich Presence Button

- The rich presence button appears only when discord-invite contains a URL.
- The URL can point to a Discord invitation or another website.
- The server-name value becomes the label players see on the button.
