# How to Install Pixelmon using the Modrinth App

Learn how to get Pixelmon up and running on your PC using the Modrinth App, so you can join Pixelmon servers.

Modrinth is a modern, open-source platform for Minecraft mods that’s gaining popularity for its speed, simplicity, and lightweight launcher. It offers an alternative to more traditional modpack platforms, with a clean interface and direct access to community-created content like Pixelmon. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of installing Pixelmon using the Modrinth app.

## Setting Up the Launcher

1. Download and install the Modrinth launcher. You can find this here: [https://modrinth.com/app](https://modrinth.com/app)
2. Once installed, open the Modrinth app. Click **Select Account** in the upper right and then click the green login button to log in with the Microsoft account where you own Minecraft.

3. After you’ve logged in, click the compass icon to open the list of modpacks available for installation.
4. Enter **The Pixelmon Modpack** in the Search bar. The results will update automatically as you type. This is the modpack you’re looking for:

5. Click **Install** and Modrinth will begin downloading and installing the necessary files.
6. Once it’s done, click **Play** and the launcher will open Minecraft with Pixelmon installed, as well as a few extra visual mods.
