# How to Install Pixelmon using ATLauncher

Learn how to install the Pixelmon mod on your Minecraft client with ATLauncher. Perfect to get started before joining Pixelmon servers.

If you want to jump into the world of **Pixelmon** without dealing with manual installs or mod conflicts, **ATLauncher** is a reliable and beginner-friendly option. It offers built-in modpack support, handles all the necessary files, and makes it simple to launch Pixelmon with just a few clicks.

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the full installation process using ATLauncher. You’ll learn how to download the launcher, install the correct version of Pixelmon, and get everything set up so you can start playing right away.

## Setting Up the Launcher

1. Download and install **ATLauncher**. You can find this here: [https://atlauncher.com/downloads](https://atlauncher.com/downloads)
2. Once installed, open ATLauncher, then click **Accounts **on the right side.
3. Click the **Sign in with Microsoft** button and follow the steps to log into the Microsoft account where you own **Minecraft: Java Edition**.

4. Once you’ve logged in, your Minecraft account should show in the **Add An Account** dropdown in the launcher.
5. With your account selected, click **Packs** on the right side.
6. At the top, enter **Pixelmon** in the Search box, then hit Enter to search through the different modpacks. This is the modpack you’re looking for:

7. Click **Install** and the launcher will ask for a name for the installation of the modpack (this can be anything you like and doesn’t have to match the server name), as well as the version you’d like to install. **The version will need to be the same that is running on the server you’re looking to join.**
8. Click **Install** and the launcher will begin downloading necessary files and installing the modpack.
9. Once complete, your new installation can be found in the **Instances** tab on the right side.
10. Click **Instances**, then click **Play** next to Pixelmon and the launcher will open up Minecraft with Pixelmon installed, as well as a few extra visual mods.
