# How to Change Your Minecraft Username

Changing your Minecraft username is easier than you think! This guide walks you through where to go and what to expect.

Changing your Minecraft username is a simple process, however, can only be done once every 30 days. This article will walk you through how to change it.

1. Navigate to [https://www.minecraft.net/](https://www.minecraft.net)
2. Click **Account** in the top right corner, then click **Sign In**.
3. Click **Sign In With Microsoft** and log in with the Microsoft account linked to your Minecraft username.

4. Once redirected, you should see a box for Minecraft Java Edition. In this box, click **Change Profile Name**.

5. In the **Java Profile Name** box, enter the new username you’d like to use.
6. Once you’ve entered a valid name, click **Change Your Profile Name** at the bottom.

That’s it! Your name change has been submitted and will update across all the Minecraft authentication servers automatically within 24 hours.
