# How to Change the Daytime and Nighttime Duration

Learn how to change the daytime and nighttime cycle for your Hytale server.

In this guide we’ll be covering how you can change the day and night cycle duration on your Hytale server. This can be useful if you’d prefer to play in longer daylight hours or the other way around and have shorter days and longer nights.

## Changing the Day and/or Night Cycle

1. Open your [Dashboard](https://app.nodecraft.com/dashboard).
2. Locate your Hytale server and click on the **Panel **button.
3. Once on your panel, **Stop** the server using the button in the upper left corner of the panel before proceeding.
4. Once the server is stopped, click on **Game Settings** on the left-hand sidebar of the panel.
5. Once on the settings page you will want to click on the **World **tab.

6. On the World tab you will see your worlds. Find the **Current World**, Hover over it and select **settings.**

7. Once on the settings page for the world, about half down the page you will see **Day/Night Cycle.**

At this point you can set the values to whatever you’d like.
9. Once set, click **Save Changes** at the bottom of the page then start your server.
