# How To Reset Player Data on a Hytale Server

Learn how to reset player data on a Hytale server.

There are times when you may need to reset player data on a Hytale server. This might be to fix a bugged character, resolve progression issues, or give a player a fresh start. Resetting player data is a straightforward process when you know where to look, but it should always be done carefully to avoid removing more information than intended.

## Using the Control Panel

1. Navigate to your Nodecraft Dashboard.
2. Click the **Panel** button for your Hytale server.
3. Locate and click **Players** in the menu on the left side. Here, you will find a list of all the players that currently have data on your server.
4. To delete a player's data, click the trash can icon next to their name.

## Manually Resetting the Files

1. Navigate to your Nodecraft Dashboard.
2. Click the **Panel** button for your Hytale server.
3. Locate and click **Server Files** in the menu on the left side.
4. Navigate to /universe/players Here, you will find a file for each player that has joined your server, named by their UUID.
5. To reset a specific player, you’ll need to delete the .json and .json.bak corresponding to the players UUID. You can look up their UUID by their username [here](https://hytaleid.com).

**Note: Make sure the player is not on the server when this is done.**

## Conclusion
