# How to Manage FiveM/RedM Server Metadata in Cfx Portal

Learn which FiveM and RedM server settings are moving to Cfx Portal and what the change means for your Nodecraft panel.

Cfx.re is moving FiveM and RedM server metadata to Cfx Portal. Metadata means your server’s public details, including its name, description, tags, and images. Once the change is complete, you’ll update those details only through the portal instead of your configuration file or hosting panel. This change is required for both FiveM and RedM servers and is set to go into effect October 21st, 2026.

## Which Settings Are Moving

The same settings are moving for both FiveM and RedM. If you’ve used a .cfg file to customize your listing, you may recognize these settings:

- Server name: `sv_hostname`
- Server tagline: `sv_projectName`
- Server description: `sv_projectDesc`
- Tags: `tags`
- Language: `locale`
- Banners: `banner_detail` and `banner_connecting`
- Server icon: `load_server_icon`

## How the Transition Works

During the transition, changes made in a .cfg file will still be used and displayed. Those details won’t immediately be available to edit in Cfx Portal before the full release. Once the change is complete, the portal will be the only place to create and update this metadata. Editing these settings in your configuration file will no longer update your public listing.

## What Changes in Nodecraft

If you’ve used Nodecraft’s listing controls to change your server name, description, or images, you’ll make those changes in the portal instead. This panel update follows Cfx.re’s requirement that these details be managed only through Cfx Portal.

For both FiveM and RedM server owners, this change moves public listing updates to Cfx Portal. Once the change is complete, use the portal whenever you want to rename your server, update its description, change its tags or language, or replace its banners and icon.
