# How to Join Your Astroneer Server

Learn how to join your Astroneer dedicated server!

Connecting to your Astroneer dedicated server on Steam is simple! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know, from configuring your game settings to connecting to your server for the first time.

Before joining your Astroneer server, you’ll need to modify the **Engine.ini** file on your PC. This is necessary due to compatibility issues with servers hosted using Wine (like ours). If you’re not sure how to do this, please refer to our [Getting Started](/support/games/astroneer/getting-started-with-your-astroneer-server) guide for detailed instructions.

1. Navigate to the Nodecraft Pro Panel for your Astroneer dedicated server.
2. **Start** your server.
3. Find your server's IP address in the **Overview** tab. It is located in the **Server Information** area.

Now it's time to add your Astroneer Server to the game's server list!

1. Launch Astroneer from Steam.
2. From the main menu, click on the **Server List** tab.
3. Click the **Add Dedicated Server** button.

4. In the popup window, enter your servers **IP address** and **Port** into the **Server URL** box.

  Example: `123.45.67.89:7777` (where `123.45.67.89` is the IP and `7777` is the port).
5. Assign a name for your server in the **Server Nickname** box for easy identification. This can be anything you like.

6. After entering the details, click **Add Server**. Your server should now appear in your **Favorite Servers** list.

**Note:** Some players report that they need to create and join a single-player world first for the server list to update properly.

7. Once your server appears in the list, select it and click **Join**. If the server has a password, you’ll be prompted to enter it at this stage.

After a brief loading screen, you will be connected to the server but remain on the main menu screen. As an Admin/Owner, you’ll see the **Server Admin** tab, allowing you to configure the server as needed.

To begin playing, navigate to the **CO-OP** tab and select **Join Game**. You’ll now begin your descent to the planet on your Astroneer server.
