# How to Set a Server Password for your Arma Reforger Server

Needing help on setting a password for your Arma Reforger server? Check this out for step-by-step help. 

**Arma Reforger servers let admins control access with a whitelist or a server password.** Whitelists restrict entry to approved users, while server passwords allow access to anyone who knows them, which is ideal for private sessions with friends or custom scenarios run by game masters.

**Note: Always stop your Arma Reforger server before making changes. If the server is online, any changes made will not take effect.**

## Setting a Password

1. Open your **Arma Reforger** instance panel.
2. Navigate to the **Game Settings** tab.
3. Enter your desired server password in the appropriate field.

4. Click **Submit** to save changes.  
5. **Start **your server.

## Troubleshooting

If the server isn’t prompting for a password:
