# Palworld 1.0 Has (Finally) Arrived!

Palworld 1.0 has officially arrived! Discover everything included in the full release, from Sunreach and the World Tree to 72 new Pals, multiplayer improvements, new weapons, and major gameplay overhauls.

Palworld has officially left Early Access.

![Palworld 1.0 banner with multiple pals.](https://cms-a.nodecraft.com/f/133932/920x430/6ffb12638c/palworld-header_2x.jpg/m/)

After more than two years of updates, expansions, strange creatures, and increasingly elaborate bases, Palworld 1.0 is now live. This is not a small launch-day update, either. Version 1.0 introduces new regions, 72 additional Pals, major changes to combat and breeding, a reworked story, expanded multiplayer features, improved server performance, and overhauls across nearly every major part of the game.

Existing saves can continue into Palworld 1.0, but Pocketpair recommends starting fresh to experience the reworked progression and story flow from the beginning.

Here are the biggest additions and changes arriving with Palworld 1.0.

## Explore Sunreach and the World Tree

The two biggest additions in Palworld 1.0 are Sunreach and the World Tree.

Sunreach is a mysterious group of floating islands suspended above Palpagos by Paldium. The region features its own environment, civilization, resources, Pals, tower bosses, and pieces of the island’s history.

Some ores found in Sunreach require specialized equipment to mine, giving players another reason to prepare before heading into the clouds. New towers are hidden throughout the region, with additional story details waiting for players who reach the edge of the sky.

The World Tree serves as the centerpiece of Palworld’s updated story. Players will finally learn more about the conflict surrounding the towers and the factions fighting for control of them.

It is home to some of the game’s most difficult challenges, rare Paloxite ore, Ancient Civilization Relics, and the Radiant Gems required for the new Awakening system.

## Palpagos Has Been Expanded

The existing map has received plenty of new content.

Palworld 1.0 adds seven smaller islands divided between volcano, desert, and ruins biomes. Each island has a different purpose and includes Pals that cannot be encountered elsewhere.

New settlements have been added to the Bamboo Groves, Snowy Mountains, Sakurajima, and Sunreach. These settlements contain additional NPCs and sub-missions.

Enemy bases can now appear at sea, Ancient Ruins have been scattered across the map, and new Watchtowers reveal nearby areas while functioning as fast travel points.

The Wildlife Sanctuaries have been completely redesigned. Each sanctuary now has a distinct environment, rare resources, exclusive Pals, and powerful bosses. Defense drones patrol the islands and attempt to remove unwanted visitors, so players can either sneak past the searchlights or charge directly into danger.

Subtlety has never been required in Palworld.

## 72 New Pals Join the Paldeck

Palworld 1.0 adds 72 new Pals, bringing the total number of Pals to 287.

The new additions include 47 original Pals and 25 variants spread throughout Sunreach, the World Tree, and other updated areas.

Pocketpair has reviewed Pal habitats and spawn levels across the entire map. Wild Pal placement should now feel more appropriate for each environment and provide a more natural sense of progression as players explore.

Predator Pals no longer appear only at fixed locations. They now have a small chance to spawn throughout the map, making unexpected encounters more common.

Existing Pals have not been forgotten. More than 100 new Pal animations have been added, including swimming, sleeping beside the player, idle behaviors, and new riding motions.

Party Pals will even stop and face their owner after the player remains idle for a while.

They missed you.

## Strengthen Pals Through Awakening and Mutation

Two new systems give players more ways to create powerful Pals.

Awakening allows players to unlock additional strength using Radiant Gems found within the World Tree. This gives players another endgame progression path for improving their favorite Pals.

Mutation affects breeding. Eggs now have a small chance to produce a mutated Pal with higher stats and a unique passive skill.

Several new cakes can influence breeding outcomes:

- Mushroom Cake slightly improves the chances of higher stats.
- Vegetable Cake produces two eggs at once.
- Deluxe Vegetable Cake increases mutation chances and improves stat growth.
- Special Cake increases the chance of inheriting multiple passive skills.

New World Tree passive skills provide enormous bonuses while applying penalties. Twin-Edged Holy Blade increases Attack by 50 percent but reduces Defense, while Dimensional Leap increases movement speed at the cost of faster hunger depletion.

Breeding the perfect Pal may now require even more spreadsheets than before.

## Partner Skills Have Been Reworked

Partner Skills for more than 200 Pals have been changed or expanded.

Some Pals can now detect nearby Pal Effigies, improve shield regeneration, increase Work Suitability levels, prevent fall damage, or strengthen other Pals in the party.

Many Partner Skill descriptions now display exact values, making it easier to understand what each Pal contributes to a team. These values will update when a Pal’s rank improves.

Most identical Partner Skill effects no longer stack when multiple copies of the same Pal are placed in a party. This should encourage players to build more varied teams instead of filling every slot with the same creature.

Some Partner Skills no longer require Pal Gear. Glider Pals and certain Pals that assist with player attacks can use their skills as soon as they are captured.

## Work Suitability Now Reaches Level 10

Work Suitability has been expanded to 10 levels, and the work values of every Pal have been rebalanced.

Ranking up a Pal will now increase one of its Work Suitability levels. Reaching maximum rank still increases all of its work levels.

The number of Pals required for maximum condensation has been reduced from 116 to 48. This should make it much easier to fully develop a Pal without filling several storage boxes with identical Lamballs.

Capture Bonus requirements have been reduced from 12 captures to five, allowing players to earn bonus experience and move into new regions more quickly.

## Combat Feels Faster and More Responsive

Player movement and combat animations have been heavily reworked.

Dodging while aiming or attacking now performs a dash instead of a roll. Players can attack while dashing, continue reloading during dodges, and adjust their direction more easily during evasive movement.

Nearly every Pal Active Skill has received balance changes to its power, behavior, cooldown, or usability. Party Pals can now deal damage equal to or greater than the player, making Pal-focused combat builds more practical.

Many existing Pals have received new Active Skills. Fuddler can burrow underground and burst beneath enemies, Starryon has a new charge attack, and Broncherry Aqua can launch enemies with a Water-type tackle.

Players can aim at an enemy and issue a direct attack command to their active Pal.

Wild Pals have received new combat behaviors. Dog-type Pals can bite, horse-type Pals can repeatedly charge, and faster Pals may reposition after attacking.

## Tower Bosses Have Changed

Every Tower Boss now has a redesigned tower with a unique visual style.

Some bosses have received new movements and attacks, meaning older strategies may no longer work as expected.

Tower Boss time limits have been reduced from 10 minutes to five minutes, with boss stats adjusted to fit the shorter battles.

The game’s main missions have been reorganized so that exploration, Tower Bosses, Sunreach, and the World Tree connect more naturally. New story-driven sub-missions, NPCs, and Journals have been added throughout Palpagos.

Main mission and sub-mission progress has been reset due to reward and progression changes. Some tutorial and Tower Boss missions will automatically complete based on the bosses already defeated on the save.

## Build Bases on the Water

Aquatic Construction has arrived.

Players can use the new Aquatic Construction Kit to build bases along shorelines and out at sea. The update introduces inverted roof pieces, faux plants, boss statues, ancient civilization structures, and additional furniture.

Storage management has received several useful improvements. Chests can now be named, painted, and configured to automatically accept matching items. Players can auto-deposit items without opening a chest.

Gold stored in base containers can now be used while shopping inside the base, and some facilities can access crafting materials directly from storage.

The Repair Kit has been removed. Pals with Handiwork can now repair damaged structures without consuming repair items.

New Clinics and Monitoring Stands can reduce SAN loss and prevent illness among Work Pals. Fixed assignments can be configured while a Pal is sleeping.

Pals working in transportation can collect matching nearby items across a wider area, while Base Pals should more reliably return to work and finish partially completed tasks.

## Base Raids Are Now Wave-Based

The raid system has been significantly redesigned.

Enemies now attack bases in multiple waves, and players receive rewards after defeating the entire raid. Enemy factions can vary depending on the base’s location, and their levels scale based on the Work Pals assigned to that base.

Defense structures no longer consume ammunition during raids.

A new Negotiator can visit the base and offer to cancel an upcoming raid in exchange for gold.

Sometimes the strongest defensive structure is a well-funded wallet.

## Multiplayer and Dedicated Servers Received Major Improvements

Palworld 1.0 adds in-game voice chat for dedicated servers. The feature must be enabled through the server’s settings and is not supported on WinGDK.

Guilds now support multiple roles with customizable permissions. Login and logout notifications, shared guild markers, improved security options, and role-restricted structures have been added.

In-game chat now stores up to 200 lines of history and includes improved system messages and anti-impersonation protections.

The server browser, password handling, IP address entry, and connection process have been improved. Players can hide server addresses while streaming.

Pocketpair has optimized dedicated server processing, memory usage, equipment systems, map objects, placed structures, and data searches. The developers fixed numerous dedicated server crashes, synchronization problems, memory leaks, and multiplayer progression issues.

These changes should improve stability on servers with large player counts or heavily developed bases, although actual performance will still depend on player activity, map size, and available server resources.

## New Weapons, Armor, and Equipment

Palworld 1.0 adds 13 weapons, including the Mechanical Bow, Combat SMG, Heavy Assault Rifle, Drone Launcher, Plasma Rifle, Laser Sword, Beam Launcher, and Tactical Grenade Launcher.

Players can craft an Extra Weapon Holster to increase their available weapon slots to six.

The Wing Pack provides a new method of flight without requiring a flying Pal. It consumes Wing Cells and can be used for exploration, combat, or moving around a base.

The Plasma Multicutter can gather ore and wood and can even be used while riding.

New Ancient armor, shields, accessories, implants, Pal Spheres, and boss-themed headgear have been added.

## The Level Cap Is Now 80

The maximum player level has increased from 65 to 80.

New technologies tied to the ancient civilization become available throughout the additional levels. High-difficulty activities, including raid bosses, Tower Boss Hard Mode, oil rigs, and expeditions, have been rebalanced around the new cap.

Experience progression has been adjusted. Lower-level Pals gain experience more quickly, making it easier to train creatures captured later in a playthrough.

Existing accumulated experience will be recalculated using the new experience table, but player levels will not be reduced.

## Major Balance and Quality-of-Life Changes

Capture probability has been adjusted to make Pals easier to catch overall.

Gold found in treasure chests has been increased by roughly two to four times, and shop prices, crafting requirements, equipment progression, expedition rewards, and technology unlocks have been rebalanced.

Players can now jump while carrying up to 1.25 times their maximum weight, and movement penalties while overburdened have been reduced.

The Pal Box finally has a search function. Filters and sorting options have been added to the Paldeck, crafting menu, and storage interfaces.

Players can now fast travel directly from the map while inside a base, retrieve every Base Pal with one button, use certain manuals in bulk, and open the inventory with the I key.

An auto-run function has been added for long-distance travel.

Your keyboard hand may finally know peace.

## Palworld Looks and Sounds Better

Pocketpair has updated the game’s water, coastlines, lighting, shadows, environmental effects, and rendering.

Fields should look more atmospheric, coastlines should blend more naturally with the water, and different locations and times of day should feel more distinct.

Sound effects have been reworked across combat, movement, gathering, riding, building, crafting, menus, missions, and base activities. Players can separately adjust player voices, NPC voices, and certain environmental sounds.

Battle music has been expanded and adjusted to better follow the flow of combat.

## Can You Continue Using an Existing Save?

Yes. Existing Palworld saves can continue into version 1.0.

Pocketpair still recommends starting with a new character so players can experience the revised story, progression, Pal placement, missions, and map balance from the beginning.

Players continuing an older save should be aware of several changes:

- Main mission and sub-mission progress has been reset.
- Bounty defeat history has been reset due to boss placement changes.
- Random Pal spawn data from version 0.7.3 and earlier will not carry over.
- Updated map boundaries may cause some older saves to load outside the playable area.
- Emergency Escape can be used if a character appears outside the updated boundary.

Backing up important save data before launching a major update is always a good idea, especially when using mods.

## Remove Mods Before Troubleshooting

Pocketpair warns that mods may cause crashes, save corruption, lost progress, or other unexpected issues after the update.

Players experiencing problems should remove manually installed mods and disable Steam Workshop mods through the Mod Management menu.

Important saves should be backed up before adding mods to a Palworld 1.0 save.

## A New Beginning for Palworld

Palworld 1.0 is much larger than a traditional launch patch.

Sunreach and the World Tree expand the map and story, while Awakening, Mutation, reworked Partner Skills, new weapons, aquatic bases, revamped raids, and 72 additional Pals provide plenty of reasons to return.

Dedicated servers have received important stability, performance, guild, chat, and connection improvements. Server owners should back up their saves, review their settings, and verify mod compatibility before inviting everyone back.

Palworld may have left Early Access, but Pocketpair is clearly not finished with Palpagos yet.

Gather your Pals, repair the base, and prepare for another adventure.

*The World Tree is finally waiting.*
